YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The internet is buzzing over what happened Thursday at iHeart Radio, the largest radio conglomerate in the country. 
The media group announced hundreds of layoffs at its radio stations nationwide and here in the Valley.

A statement on its website says, "As it enters the new decade, iHeartMedia announced a new organizational structure. The new structure will enable the company to maximize the performance of each of its markets and the company overall."

Locally, iHeart programs six radio stations. Mix 98.9, 106.1 The Bull,  95.9  KISS FM, 93.3 The Wolf,  WNIO The Sports Animal, and 570 WKBN. Thursday's cuts put an end to the only local daily sports talk radio.

iHeart has 850 radio stations nationwide and workforce 12,500.
