General Motors has abruptly stopped production of the Chevrolet Cruze in China.   This is according to GM Authority, an independent source for General Motors news.

GM Authority is reporting that a decision was made to end the production of the Cruze and reduce sales of the car in the Chinese market.  Also affecting sales is the rise of SUVs and crossover vehicles.  Production is being stopped at the Norsom II plant, which, according to GM Authority, is one of the last two facilities that was producing the Cruze.

GM Authority reports that the Chinese plant will get another project in the near future.

In March 2019, the last Chevrolet Cruze rolled off the assembly line in Lordstown after more than 50 years of production.

General Motors has also ended the production of the Cruze at plants in Mexico and South Korea.  Only one plant continues to make the Chevrolet Cruze, and that is located in Argentina.
