Police say drugs may have played a role in Brookfield crash

BROOKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a woman allegedly driving while on drugs was the cause of a Brookfield crash Monday afternoon.
The crash between a Chevy HHR and a Camaro happened around 1:30 p.m. on State Route 82 near Addison Road.
Troopers say the driver of the HHR failed to yield, causing the crash.
The driver of the HHR had to be removed from the vehicle and transported to Saint Elizabeth's trauma center in Youngstown.
According to troopers, inside the HHR, they discovered various drugs and drug paraphernalia, and the driver was deemed too impaired to drive upon arrival to the hospital.
Troopers add that the driver's injuries remain serious but non-life-threatening.
The driver of the Camaro was taken to Sharon Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
