Mill Creek Park police officer resigns after alleged racially offensive Facebook posts

Mill Creek Park - A Mill Creek Park police officer has resigned after allegedly posting racially offensive material on her Facebook page.
Officer Jackie Angelo was ordered to a pre-disciplinary hearing by the Mill Creek Park Police Department on February 13, citing the alleged Facebook posts.
The pre-disciplinary letter states, "This conference is to give you (Angelo) the opportunity to respond to the allegation that recently you posted racially offensive material on your Facebook page that, in addition to being racially offensive, made light of gun violence."
The department said these social media posts violate work rules and personnel policies, and such behavior could have been grounds for termination.
The letter says the posts were brought to the department's attention during a background check.
After the pre-disciplinary hearing on February 22, Angelo submitted her letter of resignation to the department, citing personal reasons.
Mill Creek Park Police Department confirmed the voluntary resignation of Angelo as a full-time police officer.
Angelo worked for the police department since January 2016.
