A man involved in a decade-long Mahoning County human trafficking ring has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

The judge ordered Ronald Hellman must also register as a tier three sex offender on Wednesday.

Officials say Hellman had been giving girls to a man in Austintown, who was using them for pornography.

They say he forced multiple women and juveniles to engage in sexual conduct with himself and others.

His mother, Elaine, was sentenced to 18 months of probation last October.

Prosecutors say she used her position as a Youngstown police dispatcher to help her son avoid the cops.

Two others were also charged in the case, and another suspect committed suicide.

There were said to be around 90 victims involved in the trafficking ring.
