A Brookfield pizzeria and animal shelter have partnered together to help find adoptable dogs a forever home.

Jason Cooke, founder and president of The Healthy Hearts and Paws Project has partnered with Papa Louie's Italian Kitchen & Motorcross Cafe to add pictures of shelter dogs to their pizza boxes.

Cooke said that he saw something similar happening in Buffalo, New York, and decided to contact Louie's. He hopes other area shelters and pizzerias do something similar to promote their animals.

"Any time we have a means of promoting our shelter dogs, we are going to do it. Not everyone is on social media or Petfinder, so hopefully, this reaches that audience, and we can get some pups adopted. Plus, nothing goes better with pizza than a shelter pup to enjoy it with," said Cooke.

Manager Eric Delung was excited about the opportunity to help our shelter pets find forever homes. "I think every dog deserves a second chance, and we are happy to help get the word out," said Delung.
