YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Mahoning County Board of Elections says it still needs poll workers on Election Day and sees the closing of schools over coronavirus concerns as an opportunity to fill that need.

The elections board says this is an opportunity to make some extra cash for the teachers and senior students who have been affected by the school closings that officials begin on Tuesday, which also happens to be Primary Election Day.

Poll workers will be paid $179 to $214 for the day. Poll workers are trained for the job that they will do and given full instructions on their responsibilities. Election officials say safety precautions will be in place.

Call the Mahoning County Board of Elections at 330.783.2474 or stop in our offices at The Mahoning County Renaissance Building 345 Oak Hill Avenue to sign up.
