Giant Eagle opening one hour early for seniors, immune-compromised
PITTSBURGH, Pa - Giant Eagle has announced a change to their hours to help seniors and other vulnerable groups.
According to the release, Giant Eagle will open an hour early on select days for those who are age 60 and older, and those that are immune-compromised.
The changes will go into effect March 23, when stores will open at 6 a.m., Monday through Wednesday.
The company is requesting those under 60 to respect the normal hours and give the groups their time to shop.
Staff will be available for those who need special accommodations.
After the first hour, Giant Eagle will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. to the general public.
“We continue to be amazed by the commitment of our Team Members, who have again stepped up to make sure that the most vulnerable members of our communities have an opportunity to comfortably shop in our stores,” said Giant Eagle spokesperson Dan Donovan.
