AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - An Austintown company is offering a solution to help businesses handle one portion of Governor Mike DeWine's latest order.

The order that will take effect Monday requires businesses that remain open to set a limit on how many people are allowed inside their business at one time. The goal of the order is to help slow the spread of the Coronavirus.

"Then, if they fill up to that number, they stop people from coming in," said DeWine during a Thursday press conference.

"It's very hard to count people by hand, people get tired after a few minutes of counting people coming through a door," said Sensource, Inc. President Joe Varacalli.

Sensource is a company based in Austintown. They offer a device designed to accurately keep track of how many people are inside an establishment.

"We count people coming through thresholds," said Varacalli.

Here's how the device works: the video-based system is mounted above a doorway. It detects people beneath both coming and going.

"It can monitor multiple people at the same time," said Varacalli. "It's extremely accurate. We see accuracy's like 98% typically."

Varcalli said the company provides the device to retailers across the globe.

"We're in about 45 different countries," said Varacalli.

The company also supplies the device to major U.S. companies, like Disney and Cedar Point.
