Liberty teachers hold vehicle parade to see students

LIBERTY TWP, Ohio - Over 30 teachers from Liberty's E.J. Blott Elementary School organized a vehicle parade to see their students from home on Saturday afternoon. Teachers haven't been able to see their students since the Stay at Home order took place in Ohio due to the coronavirus pandemic.
This was an opportunity to change that, from a safe distance.
Liberty principal Jessica Kohler says keeping a rapport with students is essential, no matter how it gets happens.
"We just wanted to kind of stroll through the neighborhoods and honk. Just to see their faces and you know, keep that relationship thing going, it makes me really proud as a lead that this is still our goal."
Teachers decorated their cars with signs and balloons, hoping to see a smile while driving by their students' homes.
Initially, only a few teachers were going to take part in the parade, but many more volunteered after word spread on social media throughout the township.
