RVs donated to hospital for workers

A lot of people are coming together at this tough time to help those who are working on the front lines. Christopher Gallagher of Liberty, who owns Gallaghers RV Rentals, decided to donate the use of two of his RVs to a local hospital system.
"I believe in paying it forward" described Gallagher.
He and his wife were moved to help, after reading about health care workers sleeping in their cars or garages, to not put their families at risk of the coronavirus.
"I figure they're sitting in storage right now, people can't go no where, why don't I make my RVs available to these doctors and nurses and people on the front lines so they can go in there and sleep or go in and take a shower or cook some food or read a book or something just to help them out a little bit."
He took to Facebook asking doctors, nurses and hospitals if they could use a couple RVs for free and within two hours, Mercy Health Youngstown's chief of police contacted him to use two at the hospital.
"Chief Bonacci picked up the motor homes and he left here yesterday (Monday) and he was taking them down to Mercy Health St. Elizabeth."
This comes at a time when Gallagher is also facing uncertainty in his RV business and also in his job at Vallourec Star where 59 workers are being laid off.
"This is the right thing to do, they're in desperate need of them and we always find a way, we come together we'll always find a way. I'm going to be fine no matter what happens and I wish I had ten of them to give them, I would."
Mercy Health is thankful to the Gallaghers. Their intent is to use the RVs as a place where staff on the front lines can have a quiet respite or short time away. Meanwhile the Gallaghers also encourage others with RVs to help.
