SALEM, Ohio - The Salem Community Theatre (SCT) has cancelled a number of productions and has started a GoFundMe campaign to get by during the mandated shutdown as a result of the Coronavirus.

In light of the COVID-19 virus and the current social distancing precautions in effect, the Board of Directors has decided to postpone the upcoming production of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" scheduled for May of this year. Auditions for the summer production of "Beauty and the Beast" have also been placed on hold at this time.

Due to these cancellations and the restrictions on music lessons within allotted space, SCT is taking a significant financial loss and is struggling to stay afloat. On top of the loss in ticket revenue, STC has had serious water damage which has impacted the sound booth, interior ceilings, and furniture.

The Board of Directors say help is desperately needed  this month to continue to provide affordable, inclusive art space within the Salem community.
