Girard Rite Aid to offer coronavirus testing

GIRARD, Ohio - Rite Aid has announced that it will open its first coronavirus testing site in the Valley this week.
Self-swab testing will be offered from 9 am through 5 pm beginning Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at the Girard Rite Aid, 713 North State Street.
Through a partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Rite Aid is making the testing available at 24 locations in eight states.
All Rite Aid drive-up COVID-19 testing locations will utilize self-swab nasal tests overseen by Rite Aid pharmacists. Testing eligibility is based on guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Who's eligible to get screened for COVID-19 testing?
- Age 18 or older
- Able to drive to a testing site location
- Willing to sign COVID-19 Public Health authorization form and lab consent
The testing will take place in each store's parking lot. As part of the testing process, people must remain in their vehicles from the time they arrive and until they depart.
Testing will be available at no cost to eligible individuals who meet the criteria established by the CDC. Patients are required to provide government-issued identification, be at least 18 years old and need to pre-register online at www.riteaid.com in order to schedule a time slot for testing.
