MILWAUKEE, WI - Ohio Department of Health Director and Valley native Dr. Amy Acton will soon have something in common with celebrities like Cleveland Indian Francisco Lindor, Pittsburgh Steeler Ben Rothlisberger, and YSU’s Pete the Penguin.

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum says it is taking orders for the first bobblehead of Dr. Acton.

The Hall of fame is also making bobblehead images of White House Coronavirus Coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx,  director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease Dr. Anthony Fauci,  Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, and four United States Governors who have been on the forefront of the battle against the coronavirus pandemic.

During the current COVID-19 crisis, Dr. Acton has become a familiar face and voice to the people of Ohio for her leadership. A fan club page that was created for her on Facebook has now garnered more than 133,000 members.

A 1984 graduate of Liberty High School, Acton earned her medical degree from Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine. She also has a master's degree in public health from Ohio State University.

Dr. Acton was appointed to her current position by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine in February 2019 and has more than 30 years of experience in medical practice, government and community service, healthcare policy and advocacy, academic and nonprofit administration, and more.

The Hall of Fame says it will be donating $5 from every Dr. Acton Bobblehead sold to the Protect The Heroes fund in support of the 100 Million Mask Challenge, which is the same cause that the Hall of Fame and Museum has raised over $175,000 through the sale of bobbleheads featuring Dr. Fauci, Dr. Birx

On a base bearing her name, the bobblehead features Acton wearing a white lab coat and standing at a podium adorned with the state flag as she makes an announcement during a press briefing.

The Dr. Amy Acton bobbleheads are available through the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store. They are $25 each plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order and will ship in July.
