In Austintown, Quaker Steak and Lube and a local organization called the Chicken Coupe Cruisers came together to help those struggling.

They were busy collecting non-perishable food items, toiletries and other necessities Saturday.

Organizer Dick Frost says the need isn't just in Austintown. It's everywhere.

"How many people right now aren't working, and I think that so much of servers and waiters and waitresses truly aren't even collecting an unemployment check today, so many of the folks could be single and no income and children, so I think the need is great today. Not just in Austintown, but everywhere," Dick Frost with Chicken Coupe Cruisers said.

They will also be collecting items on Tuesday, May 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, May 7 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Any Austintown resident in need can pick up supplies on Sunday, May 10 starting at noon, while supplies last.
