Body discovered in Mahoning River in Youngstown

Youngstown police are on the scene after a body was discovered floating in the Mahoning River Sunday night.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown police are on the scene after a body was discovered floating in the Mahoning River Sunday night.

Police tell 21 News the body is that of a male.

They said kayakers allegedly found the body and called police.

The call went out around 8 p.m. on Casey Drive near the corner of Poland Avenue and Walton Street.

Police said the coroner is also investigating.
