Two local medical centers in Ohio and Pennsylvania will resume offering elective health care procedures.

As part of its “Safe & Ready” program, Sharon Regional and Trumbull Regional medical centers are taking additional, necessary preparations to ensure patients
can receive high-quality, compassionate care in a safe, carefully managed environment.

“We know the health care needs of our patients and their families haven’t stopped throughout this crisis,” said Jerel Humphrey, President of Sharon Regional. “That’s why our outpatient clinics and emergency rooms are open, and we are now scheduling certain elective procedures.”

Sharon Regional and Trumbull Regional are adhering to a rigorous five-point standard ensuring patient safety, confidence and convenience including:

1. Adhering to strict protocols for surgical scheduling to allow previously cancelled
procedures to be scheduled as quickly as possible.
2. Any COVID-19 related care will take place in designated areas away from other patients
and their families.
3. Our Emergency Care Centers will continue to be a safe place to treat all emergency
patients.
4. A stringent cleaning policy will be implemented throughout the hospital.
5. A strictly controlled visitor and masking policy will be required.

“It is very important that people continue to seek the necessary medical care and not put things off due to fear” said Krista McFadden, President of Trumbull Regional. “Doing so can cause greater health problems and issues down the line. The Coronavirus has presented us with new challenges, but our organization stands ready to meet the health care needs of the communities we serve – in a safe, secure setting.”
