A body recovered from the Mahoning River in Youngstown over the weekend has been identified as that of an East Palestine man who had been reported as missing.

The Mahoning County Coroner’s office says work is still being conducted to determine what caused the death of 23-year-old Matthew McDade, whose body was found floating in the river near Poland Avenue and Walton Street Sunday night.

Early last week, the East Palestine Police said McDade was reported missing.

He was last seen on March 30, 2020, when he walked away from a location in Youngstown.
