Anderson Coach & Travel heading to DC for rally to raise awareness for bus industry

GREENVILLE, Pa. - Greenville travel company Anderson Coach& Travel is joining others in the industries on a trip to Washington D.C. for a "rolling rally."
The "Motorcoaches Rolling for Awareness" is a one day grassroots event by independent motorcoach operators, suppliers and state associations to showcase how big buses and small businesses move America.
The buses will be decorated with informative signs about the motorcoach industry including those they serve, the economic impact they make and those they employ.
The businesses hope the rally will remind the members of Congress and the Trump Administration that the industry has laid off or furloughed more than 90 percent of its workforce nationally and needs federal assistance.
“Like many local small businesses, my operations have been absolutely devastated by the coronavirus. My buses sit idling while my employees remain at home. We all want to be back on the road, bringing people from point A to point B while serving our communities again. Without help from the federal government, I fear our buses may never return to the road and our passengers will be stranded without access to the nation’s transportation system,” said President Doug Anderson.
The motorcoach industry has requested $15 billion in federal grants and loan guarantees through the Economic Injury Disaster Loan and Paycheck Protection Program.
The motorcoach industry employs nearly 100,000 people with the majority of companies being family owned, small businesses.
