CANFIELD, Ohio - The Canfield School Board unanimously approved a new superintendent for the district Tuesday night.

21 News reported last week that Joe Knoll would be taking over the seat in Canfield.

Knoll served as the Marlington School District's superintendent for the last eight years.

While at Marlington, he implemented a technology plan for all students and put STEM programming throughout the school.

Knoll expressed his gratitude to the Board during the meeting.

"I honestly want to thank the Board for this amazing opportunity and I'm looking forward to useing the next couple months to make those connections with the Canfield community," said Knoll.

Knoll's contract with the district will take effect on August 1.
