As Ohio continues to slowly reopen its economy, people are waiting to get out and enjoy typical summer activities like enjoying outside concerts.

The governor has not yet announced plans for when larger concert venues can open just yet but local promoters are starting to plan dates for the near future, hoping they can bring back the music.

21 News reached out to JAC management which operates the Covelli Centre and The Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre for any plans they have but our calls were not returned.

It was a different story up north in Trumbull County.

Organizers at the Robins Theatre and River Rock at the Amp in Warren are announcing concert acts and dates, hoping the OK from the state will come so they can bring live music back to the valley.

Tickets went on sale today for KISS guitarist, Ace Frehley to play at Robins on August 7th. Right now, they are planning to sell 800 of its 1,400 seat capacity to maintain social distancing.

"The outdoor amp is a little easier to do. I think people feel more comfortable but both are kind of the same we have sanitary stations at both places, we're taking people's temperature," said Ken Haidaris of the Robins Theatre.

But with all of those people leaving a concert at the same time...isn't that a little too close for comfort?

"I think people are smart enough where they aren't going to crowd out at the same time. They aren't going to stand next to the bathroom at the same time. I think after the last 3-4 months people have learned to kind of keep their distance," added Haidaris.

Again, concert promoters are still waiting to hear from the state for health guidelines. But it may not take as long as you might think.

Movie theatres are now open and that announcement was made just two weeks before the opening date.
