GIRARD, Ohio - Authorities have released the names of a motorcycle driver and his passenger killed in a traffic accident on Interstate 80 in Girard on Tuesday.

State Troopers say 71-year-old Donald Snyder was driving a Honda Goldwing Tricycle around noon when he swerved to avoid debris along the westbound lane of Interstate 80 in Girard.

The tricycle overturned, throwing Snyder and his 55-year-old passenger Christina Borton from the bike. An oncoming semi-tractor trailer then struck both victims and the trike.

Borton was pronounced dead at the scene.  Snyder was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown where he was pronounced dead.

Both victims were from the community of Lucerne Mines in Indiana County, Pennsylvania.

Troopers say no citations will be issued since the motorcycle driver appears to be at fault.

I-80 westbound was closed during the crash investigation, backing up traffic into Liberty Township.
