Woman flown to hospital with serious burns after New Castle house fire
A smoke alarm woke up the woman and the two children in the home who ran outside to safety.

NEW CASTLE, Pa. - A woman was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital after suffering serious burns in a house fire.
Fire crews arrived at the house on Crawford Avenue in New Castle around 5:30 a.m. and found the home engulfed in flames.
A smoke alarm woke up the woman and the two children in the home who ran outside to safety.
The woman thought a third child was still inside and she went back inside to rescue them, causing her to suffer burns to her arms and legs.
The child was not in the home but was staying with relatives.
There's no word yet on the cause of the fire but the home is a total loss.
