WARREN, Ohio -  A woman faces child endangering and other charges after Warren police say they found her with a hypodermic needle in a grocery store parking lot.

Police say they were called to the Aldi’s on Parkman Road Thursday evening to investigate a report that a couple with a child was barely able to walk or talk.

Officers found 28-year-old Jhordan Murray of Atwater, Ohio in a car with her six-year-old son.

Police say they could see that Murray was trying to hide a hypodermic needle in her shorts.

According to the police report, Murray’s son grabbed a glass crack pipe that was on the front seat, then jumped out of the car and began to run around the parking lot.

The boy, who police say is autistic, was caught and placed in a cruiser along with his mom.

Officers say in addition to the syringe and crack pipe, a search of the car turned up a packet of suspected fentanyl concealed in a pack of cigarettes.

Murray was booked into the Trumbull County Jail on charges of child endangering, possession of drug abuse instruments, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was scheduled for arraignment in municipal court Friday morning.

The boy has been turned over the children’s services.

The man who was with Murray was not charged.
