The Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County is extending the date for its benefit raffle, which was initially planned to end on August 1.

The $100 raffle tickets are being sold to help the shelter recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, and AWL  is selling 1,000 tickets with no limit on the number of tickets one may purchase.

The winner of the raffle in December will receive 50 percent of the money from the sold tickets. If all 1,000 tickets are sold, the winner will receive $50,000. The remaining 50 percent of the proceeds will go towards AWL efforts for abused, sick, and injured animals of Trumbull County.

"We decided it benefits everyone to extend the raffle. By working to sell all 1,000 tickets AWL and the animals we serve get more financial support and the raffle winner gets that big prize of $50,000, "Lori Shandor, AWL CEO stated.

So far, about 500 tickets have been sold.

Tickets can be purchased in person at AWL Tuesdays and Thursdays between noon and 7 p.m. or on Saturdays between noon, and 6 p.m. Tickets may also be purchased by calling 330-539-5300 or online at www.AWLRescueMe.com/raffle.
