Some changes are being made to the Girard Fire Department's staffing levels.

According to the Girard Firefighters Local 1220, firefighters began working under reduced staffing levels on August 1.

The statement from the organization says the changes lower the number of personnel available to respond to an emergency.

The changes can also leave the city with fewer firefighters or paramedics to respond to a simultaneous emergency.
