Bed Bath & Beyond has joined other major retailers in announcing plans to close its stores on Thanksgiving Day this year due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.

President & CEO Mark Tritton of Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. said in a statement, "Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, our dedicated associate teams have taken exceptional steps to keep each other safe, our customers served, and our communities supported with the essential items they need."

Like other retail chains, which have been open during past Thanksgivings, Bed Bath & Beyond has not yet revealed plans for Black Friday shoppers.

Other chains that won't be open on Thanksgiving include Best Buy, Kohls, Walmart, Target, and Dick's Sporting Goods.
