Youngstown man accused of firing shot at Coitsville officer

COITSVILLE TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A Youngstown man is in jail after a police pursuit that began in Coitsville early Thursday ended on Youngstown’s South Side with a crash and a shot being fired at an officer.
Township police tell 21 News they tried to pull a Moped over after spotting it swerving along the road shortly before 3 a.m.
An officer followed the bike into Youngstown, where it crashed into a parking divider, flying into the air at Indianola Avenue and Rush Boulevard.
According to police, the male pulled a gun and fired it at the officer.
The officer, who wasn’t struck by the shot, says he tackled the suspect and took his gun away.
The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Trenton Nored, was taken to Mercy Health for treatment of minor injuries he got during the crash.
He has since been booked into the county jail on charges of felonious assault, resisting arrest, carrying a concealed weapon, failure to comply with police, and having a weapon under a disability.
Police say Nored will be arraigned Friday in Struthers Municipal Court.
