WARREN, Ohio -

A former employee of the City of Warren has been indicted after allegedly stealing money from the city.

Kisha Jackson, former City Events Coordinator and administrative assistant, is now facing two counts of theft in office.

A previous letter signed by the city's safety service director, Eddie Colbert, alleged Jackson stole money from the Christmas on the Square event funds.

The indictment states Jackson allegedly stole $2830.80.

Jackson was fired by the City of Warren in March.

Attorney David Engler, who is representing Jackson, previously said his client did not steal any funds, and that the City of Warren violated procedure when terminating her as she was given no disciplinary hearing in regard to the accusations.

Engler also stated, "Jackson was also given no proper training as events coordinator and took the position on to be helpful."

Jackson will appear back in court early next week to plead not guilty.

Jackson had been an employee of the city for more than three years.
