Ohio BMV announces print-on-demand temporary tags
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles has implemented a new print-on-demand temporary tag through OPLATES.com.
The website allows customers to print temporary tags without going to a Deputy Registrar.
According to the release, anyone who purchased vehicles in private sales are new residents getting an Ohio title, or people who bought a car from a dealership that doesn't sell temporary tags can use the service.
Customers can place their orders for temporary tags and complete their payment through OPLATES.com. After paying for the temporary tag, it can be printed by the customer.
Anyone with temporary plates, vehicle registration or a driver's license that has expired during the Ohio state of emergency automatically had their expiration date extended until 90 days after the state of emergency ends or December 1, 2020, whichever comes first.
The new print-on-demand temporary tags are being issued at most dealerships.
