Salem man accused of causing panic at North Lima hotel

NORTH LIMA, Ohio - A Grand Jury has handed up criminal charges against a Salem man accused of causing the evacuation of a North Lima hotel.
The Mahoning County Grand Jury on Thursday handed up a six-count indictment charging 42-year-old Shane Bagley with inducing panic, vandalism, disrupting public services, obstructing official business, falsification, and misconduct at an emergency.
The charges stem from an incident during the early morning hours of August 8 when the Beaver Township Fire Department was called out after fire alarms sounded at the Quality Inn & Suites on Market Street.
The hotel guests had to be evacuated while the fire department investigated.
According to Beaver Township Police, someone had deliberately damaged the hotel’s fire suppression system.
Police say Bagley lied to officers about his identity and resisted arrest.
