Police: Youngstown, Farrell suspects filled forged prescriptions across NE Ohio
A man from Youngstown and a woman from Farrell are accused of trying to fill forged prescriptions in Warren and other cities in Northeast Ohio.
Gary Ryan, 33, of Youngstown and Shantel Townsend, 27, of Farrell was arrested by in Alliance, Ohio on Tuesday after police say they attempted to have a forged prescription for codeine syrup at a Rite Aid in the city.
According to court records, the pair passed the same prescriptions at drugstores in other Ohio cities, including Warren and Akron.
The pair face charges of illegal processing of drug documents, deception to obtain a dangerous drug, identity fraud, and forgery.
Police told a judge that Ryan is on parole and poses a flight risk who may try to flee the state to Texas where his mother lives.
Bond was set at $100,000 for each suspect.
