Mahoning Valley - After a drone landed in Wrigley Field Wednesday night during a Cleveland Indian's and Chicago Cubs MLB game, the Federal Aviation Association ruled people cannot fly drones over a stadium during games, and technically can't be within three miles of any stadium up to one hour before and after the game.

To fly a drone recreationally, there are regulations laid out by the FAA. Click here to read.

"Really you can fly it just about anywhere other than FAA restricted air space," Major William Cappabianca of the Mahoning County Sheriff's Department said, "...Such as military bases, close to airports, football stadiums... There's often a lot of questions, 'Can I see a drone flying over my house? Is that legal? it is actually legal.'"

The FAA states hobbyists must be flying at or below 400 feet above ground level. Cappabianca said if people violate these laws, or use the drone wrongfully, law enforcement could step in.

"We do find you...We find your control pad, we would then gather the evidence, document all of the information, interview you on the spot, document, record report, and contact the FAA,"  he said.

Jacob Gaul of Boardman has been flying drones for years. He does it professionally now for 680 Aerials, but started off doing it recreationally. His best advice is to train, although a license isn't required for recreational flying.

"Do RemotePilot101.com," Gaul said. "Make sure you watch YouTube videos of people flying, read the instruction manual and start in big open field."
