A reminder today that in one year you will need to have what's called a "real ID." That's if you haven't already gotten one.

You may recall, the federal requirement for the updated ID's was extended because of the pandemic.

These IDs will be needed if you're entering any federal building, nuclear power plants - or probably the most common use - if you plan to fly commercially

Originally the deadline for these IDs was October 2020, but that's been extended to October 1 of 2021

If you haven't gotten this updated ID yet, you will need to provide documents that prove your: full legal name, date of birth, legal presence, social security number, and two proofs of Ohio residency, and if your name has changed and is not the same as what is listed on their birth certificate, you will need to provide proof of that name change.

Commonly, this includes a birth certificate or US passport, SSN card, or W2.

If you're not sure if your ID is compliant in Ohio, The Real ID has a star in the upper right-hand corner.
