Bridge at future camp to be named, dedicated in Lowellville

Golden String, Inc. of Youngstown, a non-profit agency that helps individuals with disabilities, will be naming and dedicating the walking bridge Thursday, Oct. 15, at 4:30 p.m. at the future site of a year round camp for adults and children with disabilities at Purple Cat-Farmer Casey’s Ranch in Lowellville at 4738 McCartney Rd.
The bridge that crosses the lake will be named and dedicated to Kit Keating, a very special friend of GabbaCamp.
In 2018, Golden String broke ground at the future site of GabbaCamp, when it constructed a path
around the lake, so that everyone, including individuals in wheelchairs, could enjoy the grounds.
“We are delighted to finally name and dedicate this important bridge after a dear friend of GabbaCamp.
This bridge will serve as a way, for those in wheelchairs, to enjoy the woods, lake, fall foliage and the Serenity Garden. The garden will be a place where we can all reflect and remember those we have lost,” said Jimmy Sutman, Director of Iron and String Life Enhancement.
