A Sebring woman is facing charges after allegedly taking money from her grandmother.

According to the report, the 80-year-old victim told bank managers that she had $2,961 missing from her bank account, causing her to overdraw her account.

Bank personnel found multiple transfers to a Cash App account for a Haley Howard, adding up to the missing amount.

Reports say $1,000 of the missing money was approved by the victim and was alleged to be used to help out a friend of Howard's.

Once the initial transfer went through, Howard then gained access to the bank account and made other transfers according to the report.

Officers spoke with Howard on October 1 at her home on the 600 block of West Maryland Avenue about the charges. Reports say she claimed to have unlinked her grandmother's card from her account after transferring the $1,000.

Police returned to Howard's home on October 7 and took her into custody and conducted a search of her home.

According to the report, Howard admitted to taking a pill containing Adderall and methamphetamine while police arrived at the home. Howard's child would have been in the home at the time she took the pill, reports say.

Howard faces charges of tampering with evidence, endangering children and theft from an elderly person in connection to the incident.

Her next court date is scheduled for October 15.
