Warren man grabs shotgun, scuffles with intruder

WARREN, Ohio - A Warren man told a dispatcher he was in fear for his life and the life when a woman broke into his home Thursday night.
The 30-year-old Freeman Street NW man called 9-1-1 at around 8 pm, reporting that a woman climbed through a window and was inside the house.
The homeowner went upstairs, telling the dispatcher he had grabbed a shotgun. The victim can be heard warning the intruder that he had a gun shortly before a scuffle, during which time he dropped his phone.
Out of breath, the man can be heard on the call coming back to the phone saying the woman ran away, shortly before police arrived.
The victim says the woman grabbed his wallet and took $40 before escaping.
The resident identified the woman as a 31-year-old Warren woman who is wanted for a previous robbery in Warren.
As of Friday morning, no charges had been filed in connection with Thursday’s robbery.
