BOARDMAN, Ohio - Boardman schools have announced learn at home Wednesdays to try and ease the burden on teachers amid the pandemic.

In a video message Friday, Superintendent Tim Saxton announced the school will move to remote learning for all students on Wednesday.

This starts in the first week of November.

Saxton says teachers have been working hard to maintain quality learning for both in-person and remote learners, but the issue is time.

The remote learning on Wednesday will let staff catch up on work and collaborate with their colleagues to continue creating content, according to Saxton.

It will also allow for another day of cleaning.

He says this decision was not easy, but something had to change.

Learn at home Wednesdays will continue throughout the second nine weeks of the school year.
