Pumpkin display in Poland turning lots of heads

POLAND, Ohio - Just drive around the Mahoning Valley and you will see some really great Halloween displays. There is one in particular in Poland that is full of pumpkins!
7063 Poland Center Drive has more than 100 carved pumpkins in front of the house, all thanks to the steady hands of Tyler Hanes.
"Just hit 100 yesterday and we're still going," Hanes said.
The pumpkins aren't real, they're foam, but Tyler uses a hot knife and stencils to make some really cool designs.
"I've done Monsters Inc., I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, tons of Disney," Hanes said. "I'm about to carve Toy Story, Coco, tons of stuff for the whole family. I've got a few of the horror flicks, Friday the 13th, Halloween with Michael Myers, Chucky, some really fun stuff, but it's mostly family friendly."
Tyler says some have taken two hours apiece to carve while others have been considerably less. He says he originally wanted to just do a few, but that turned into 50 and the display is growing. He hopes with it will bring some happiness during a Halloween season smack dab in the middle of a pandemic.
"I started to do this because I figured with Covid and everything that's happening with the world, it's not going to be a normal Halloween so I wanted to do something that was safe, easy, quick, fun for the whole family and yeah, just wanted to bring smiles to people's faces," Hanes said.
Tyler says he and his mother would carve real pumpkins and spend hours on them, but after a week or two they would rot and just have to be thrown away and that was devastating. He wants to grow the collection and make it bigger every year. His father is worried about where they are going to store them all!
Tyler encourages people to come out and check out the display and even take pictures.
The address is 7063 Poland Center Dr. in Poland, Ohio.
