QUITMAN, Ga. - Authorities in Georgia have made an arrest for the murder of two men, one of whom has been identified as an East Liverpool man.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Brooks County Sheriff’s Department was called to a remote road in Quitman, Georgia where two people had been shot and killed

One of the victims has been identified as John Timothy Thompson, age 56, of East Liverpool, Ohio. 

The second victim was 36-year-old Deshaun Lamar Scott of Cleveland.

On Wednesday, Kenny Pruitt, age 36, of Cleveland, OH, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The investigation has revealed that Pruitt and three other men traveled to Quitman from the Cleveland area on Sunday.

 One of the victims was traveling to the area to visit family members, and the others accompanied him on the trip.
