The Ohio Department of Health is reporting 2,858 new cases of COVID-19 in the state.

Saturday's numbers are the highest new daily case count of COVID-19 the state has seen since the start of the pandemic in March.

This is the second day in a row the state has set record-high numbers of new cases.

Saturdays new cases bring the statewide total to 195,806 cases of COVID-19.

Twenty-two new deaths were also reported, bringing statewide totals to 5,206 COVID-19 related deaths.

There were 140 new hospitalizations in the last 24 hours which is above the 21-day average of 108 hospitalizations.

Twenty-three people were also admitted to the ICU in the last 24 hours which is above the 21-day average of 18 ICU admissions.

In Mahoning County, there are 3,779 total cases, 561 hospitalizations and 287 total deaths.

In Trumbull County, there are 2,334 total cases, 381 hospitalizations and 134 total deaths.

In Columbiana County, there are 2,146 total cases, 236 hospitalizations and 88 total deaths.
