13th Congressional District Candidate Christina Hagan

BOARDMAN, Ohio - Republican Candidate Christina Hagan is campaigning to serve Ohio's 13th Congressional District and unseat incumbent candidate Congressman Tim Ryan.
Her campaign slogan is that she's the "conservative voice for working people."
"I stand with the vulnerability of the unborn. I stand with the family unit as a whole," she said. "I stand with gun owners. I stand with working-class Americans like myself, my brothers, my husband, my entire family," Hagan said.
Hagan says the top focus of her campaign pitch to Valley voters is fighting for jobs.
"I think the top concern is jobs and our economy, and the opportunity for our children to stay here, be raised here, and to have a fighting chance at a job here in the future," she said.
She's often out showing her unwavering support for President Donald Trump at campaign events, including the recent Trump for Women bus tour stop in Mahoning County.
Hagan comes from a family with political roots. The Stark County native, wife, and mom of three lives just outside of the district in Alliance.
She served as a state representative for Ohio's 50th District from 2011 to 2018. In 2017 and 2018, she ran outside of her home district to replace her father, John Hagan, in Ohio's 16th Congressional district, but lost in the primary.
Hagan's legislative resume includes voting in favor of Senate Bill 5. She was a key sponsor for the controversial heartbeat bill. She's an advocate for gun rights, carrying an "A" rating from the National Rifle Association.
"I am never going to waiver in standing for our right to defend ourselves," she said. "I think as we see the country going completely awry and chaos in our cities, there's never been a more important time for us to know that our second amendment rights are crucial to us to defending ourselves," she said.
Hagan says she's receiving support from local police in the Valley and throughout the district in the wake of a letter sent to U.S. Attorney General William Barr that Ryan signed. His support of the letter that was critical of law enforcement. She stands behind law enforcement at every level.
RUNNING WITH TRUMP ON THE BALLOT
You often see Hagan's signs alongside Trump signs in front lawns across the area.
Hagan has the president's endorsement. She's hoping to benefit from his success if Trump sails to victory for a second time in Ohio in the election.
"The president's strength is my strength and vice versa," she said. "If I succeed and do well, that's going to help and deliver Ohio for the president, and if the president succeeds in Northeast Ohio, that's going to help my chances."
21 News Political Analyst Doctor Bill Binning does not believe she has a chance.
He says no amount of spending or campaigning can garner a victory for a Republican in what he calls a packed Democrat district. The district encompasses many longtime Democratic Party strongholds with cities outside of Akron, a large portion of Portage County, and parts of Trumbull and Mahoning counties.
Hagan believes she has a chance to win.
