October 21, 2017, was the day that Girard Police Officer Justin Leo was killed in the line of duty. 

Officer Leo,  the 31-year-old was responding to a domestic violence call on Indiana Avenue when he was shot and later died at the hospital. 

Leo was a five-year veteran of the Girard Police Department.

Since then several memorials have been dedicated in his honor including the most recent a portrait.

Ron Moore, Jr. drew a portrait in honor of Officer Justin Leo. The portrait was dedicated to the family on Wednesday and it will permanently hang in the Girard Police Department.

Also, there will be prints of the portrait for sale, and proceeds from the sale will benefit The Justin Leo Scholarship Fund.
