Mahoning Valley - Ohio polling locations will be open on Election Day Tuesday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Mahoning, Columbiana and Trumbull County Boards of Elections officials said they expect smooth sailing at the polls.

Deputy Directors in all three counties said they've received roughly half of their registered voters' ballots.

"So if we were to double that at the polls, it would be nothing more than a governor's race turn out," Ron Massullo of Trumbull County Board of Elections, said.

Despite this prediction, the tri-county area said they will have law enforcement patrolling polling locations on stand by, in case of any kind of threat, but there will not be security at every polling location.

Voters cannot campaign with 100 feet of polling location doors. All voters are asked to wear a mask and abide by protocols. Poll workers are trained to clean voting stations between each ballot cast.

All three counties said there is no shortage of poll workers, with extra on hand if needed.

"We actually have over 100 reserves ready to go in the morning," Massullo said.

He said the only item voters need to bring to the polls is their I.D.

"As well as a military I.D; something with your name and current address to give you the proper ballot," he said.

He said they are also accepting expired driver's licenses, too.

If you need to know your polling location, call your county's board of elections office, or check the website. Elections officials said if a voter is in line past 7:30 p.m., they will still have the opportunity to vote, under any circumstance.

Voters are reminded they are not allowed to wear clothing and/or face coverings with literature, or enforcing any candidate. Photo taking is permitted outside of the voting area, but it is illegal in Ohio to take a photo of any marked ballot.
