In Columbiana county they are preparing for one the county's largest distributions of it's kind to help many of those struggling during this COVID pandemic.

The Community Action Agency of Columbiana County is holding a Community Action Day of Giving on Saturday, November 14th..

"We have received more federal funds from the cares act so we are able to receive more things. We are going to do things now through '21 because we received more funds," said Tom Andrews of CAACC.

It will be a drive-thru event for people of need in the county.
Boxes full of everything from food to cleaning supplies will be given out until they are gone.

"Things like hams, turkey, pot pies, all the food you need for a holiday meal. There will also be fresh produce. We will be handing out cleaning products, hygiene products, PPE products and other information for kids for school stuff," added Andrews.

As the weather gets colder you can bet furnaces will be kicking on all over the area. For people having a hard time being able to afford to keep it warm in their homes, Community Action can help with that too.

They will be also taking calls on Saturday to assist people in Columbiana County with reconnection to Columbia Gas and to refill propane tanks. To see if you qualify you can call them beginning at 8am at 330-892-8880.

To attend the drive thru event, stop by their offices on Lincole Place in Lisbon starting at 10am. Be sure to bring a valid state ID.
