Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kevin Porter Jr. arrested in Mahoning County

MAHONING COUNTY, Ohio - Cleveland Cavaliers star Kevin Porter Jr. was arrested in Mahoning County Sunday.
Porter Jr. was arrested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol on Interstate 76 at 2:16 a.m.
Police initially responded to reports of a rollover crash involving Porter's car and found his vehicle with apparent rollover damage.
Police say they discovered a loaded firearm inside the car and suspected marijuana were found in the vehicle.
According to Ohio State Highway Patrol, the 20-year-old was charged with improperly handling a firearm in a vehicle, failure to control and a misdemeanor marijuana charge.
The Cleveland Cavaliers organization released the following statement on Porter's arrest:
“We are aware of the situation involving Kevin Porter Jr. and are in the process of gathering information. We have spoken with Kevin and will continue to address this privately with him as the related process evolves.”
According to Mahoning County Sheriff Jerry Greene, Porter Jr. was released around 10 a.m. Sunday a $4,000 cash bond.
Cleveland selected Porter Jr. with the 30th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
The USC product played in 50 games for the Cavaliers last season, averaging 10.0 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.
