AUSTINTOWN TWP., Ohio - A Valley business is cutting back hours because of state orders issued by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine to curb the rising number of Coronavirus cases.

Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning County Race Course announced on Thursday that it is changing its hours of operation from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. daily.

The announcement comes on the same day that Ohio imposed a statewide curfew between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. for the next three weeks.

“We have been working closely with the Ohio Lottery Commission, state and local leaders, and public health officials to finalize comprehensive Phase I reopening protocols and new health and safety precautions,” said Hollywood Gaming VP and General Manager Allie Evangelista. “Our returning team members will be trained on these procedures, and our guests will see reminder signage about them throughout the property.”

In addition to the new hours, other precautions put in place previously will continue.

Employees and vendors will be required to wear masks and will undergo a self-assessment health screening each day, including temperature checks, before their shift.

Customers in public areas are required to wear a mask covering the face and nose. Patrons may remove masks temporarily while eating or drinking or when asked by casino staff for identification.

VLT machines will be cleaned throughout the day, and sanitizer stations will be installed on the racino floor.

The building will be closed each night for cleaning.

Capacity on the gaming floor will be limited to no more than 50% of the maximum occupancy.

Floor decals and signs are being installed to enforce social distancing guidelines in areas where lines typically form.

Gaming machines will be configured to enforce social distancing requirements.

Live music, entertainment, convention, and banquet services remain suspended.

There will be no large drawings, tournaments, or special events.

The Skybox Sports Bar and Take 2 Food Court are open.

The valet entrance is open, but valet services are not available.

The venue is restricted to guests 21 and over, which now includes racing and simulcast.
