Crestview classes go remote due to coronavirus increase

COLUMBIANA, Ohio - The Crestview Local School District has announced it will pause in-person instruction for the week of Thanksgiving and the week after Thanksgiving to deal with a local increase of COVID-19 cases.
The district has reported five students and three staff members have tested positive for Coronavirus.
A letter to parents from Superintendent Matthew Manley said that in-person classes resume Monday, December 7, 2020
“We have a number of quarantined and positive students from family work exposures, and we have several quarantines and positives in the school setting,” said Manley. “This comes at a time as we approach the holidays. Therefore, our plan is to be in person, take a pause, and then return back to in-person instruction.”
Manley hopes the change will allow time to reduce the infection rate during a two-week period with six instructional days of school.
The district plans to conduct a survey after Thanksgiving to learn parents' preferences for the second semester.
