Salem health officials direct COVID compliance complaints to state

SALEM, Ohio - The Salem City Health Department says people with complaints about businesses not following Coronavirus precautions should contact state authorities.
City of Salem Police Department posted a notice from the city health department stating that people with complaints about a retail store should call the below Ohio Department of Health Hotline number: 1-833-427-5634. Press 2 for the Retail Compliance Hotline
According to Health Commissioner Alanna Stainbrook, the caller will be asked for the store's name and address.
Stainbrook says calling the hotline is the only way to get the Bureau of Workmen's Compensation to come to Salem to address the violations.
If the BWC finds a violation, the first offense is a written warning. A second offense is the closure of the store for up to 24 hours.
