Warren City School District going all remote next week

WARREN, Ohio - The Warren City School District is going remote next week amid more coronavirus cases among staff and students.
All K-through-12 students will move to online learning starting Nov. 23 through Dec. 18 at minimum.
School officials say that if things get better, they anticipate returning to hybrid instruction as early as Jan. 4.
Warren G. Harding High School students will continue to work under their gold schedule. K-through-8 online students will continue as they have been working. Hybrid cohort A and B students will now combine during this time for four full days of instruction: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
The district says they relied on important data to make this decision.
"While our goal is to always provide in-person learning, the rise in COVID-19 cases across the state, county, and our city is affecting our schools' abilities to maintain consistent and stable in-person learning and effective operations," the district wrote in a media release. "As a result, we believe moving to all remote learning the next several weeks is the best decision to protect our students and staff. The health, safety, and well-being of our students, staff, and community continues to be our
primary concern."

The district will continue to distribute food to families. They plan to release details about any change in the distributions' times and locations as soon as possible via the district's website.
At this point, athletics and activities will continue but will be re-evaluated frequently, according to the district.
